Privacy Policy
The Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) is committed to respecting the privacy of website visitors. This policy explains how we use information collected from Caring for Kids.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file entered into the memory of your web browser when you visit a website. Cookies can be used to help sites personalize information (such as sites that “remember” you when you return) or to collect demographic information.
On Caring for Kids we use cookies to help us track how the website is being used, including how many people visit the site and which pages are being visited and how often. This information is used solely to improve your experience when visiting Caring for Kids. We do not collect individual personal information through this process. Your Internet browser can be set to not accept cookies.
Personal information
In some areas of the site, such as the Caring for Kids e-newsletter, we use subscription forms that request personal information, such as an e-mail address. When this is the case, you will always be asked if you want to provide your information. The information is used only for our mailing list and you can easily unsubscribe at any time. We NEVER make this information available to any third party.
Contests
We sometimes run contests to win a prize. To enter, you must be 18 years of age and provide information that will allow us to contact you if you win a prize. All contact information submitted with entries is destroyed once the winner has been notified.
Links to other sites
Caring for Kids has many links to other sites, including government departments, public institutions such as hospitals, and other not-for-profit organizations. A link is not an endorsement of an organization of the information on its website. When you leave Caring for Kids, you are subject to the privacy policies of the next site(s) you visit. For complete details, visit our Policy on Internet Links.
Personal information transmitted via e-mail
If you send us a question or comment via e-mail, you may include personal information. We only use the information we need to answer your question. However, the information on Caring for Kids should not be used as a substitute for medical care and advice. If you have specific concerns about your child’s health, please see your child’s paediatrician, family physician, or another health care provider.
